The P.U.L.S.E. Employee Feedback Survey

P.U.L.S.E. stands for Perceptions Underlying Leadership & Strategy Effectiveness.  This Employee Feedback Survey  gives you a pulse of how things “really” are in your business. 

The P.U.L.S.E. Employee Feedback Survey can be used for the employees, staff, and customers.  The Feedback Survey is designed to give the leadership an understanding of the barriers that will keep you from achieving your desired results. 

Understanding the perceptions that exist in your organization will allow you to make the right strategic moves and achieve your goals faster.  We start with the P.U.L.S.E.to provide a foundation for a successful outcome for any consulting or training and development work we do.

Objectives of the PULSE Employee Feedback Survey

  1.  Gain insight into things that are working well and things that are not working as well as you would like for them to work
  2. Provide a basis for the strategic direction of the organization
  3. Identify gaps in Management and Leadership performance
  4. Provide a basis for training and development
  5. Identify potential customer impact issues
  6. Increase organizational effectiveness

 The P.U.L.S.E. Process

  1.  Planning and Preparation
    1. The PULSE measures organizational effectiveness in the following areas:  Strategy Alignment, Work Environment, Recognition and Appreciation, Job Satisfaction, Manager-Employee Relationships, Communication (Inter and Intra Departmental), Resources To Perform Job
    2. The Demographics for the P.U.L.S.E. are developed with you to determine how to categorize the results.  Typical demographics include: Level, Department, Tenure, Location, etc.
    3. Finalize with you the statements to be rated and the participants (raters).  We can include customers and vendors in the P.U.L.S.E. process.
  1.  P.U.L.S.E. Communications
    1. CAPITAL iDEA will manage the entire communication process for the P.U.L.S.E.
    2. We develop the announcement for the leadership to send to participants (raters)
    3. CAPITAL iDEA communicates the survey instructions and process to the raters
    4. Reminder Memo to Complete P.U.L.S.E. (at midway point and 24 hours before cutoff)
    5. P.U.L.S.E. Deployment
      1. Online format:  typically 2 Weeks is enough time for all raters to complete the P.U.L.S.E.
      2. CAPITAL iDEA can also develop paper formats if necessary
      3. CAPITAL iDEA can develop the P.U.L.S.E. in languages other than English if needed
  2.  Reporting and Analysis: Total Organization and By Demographics
    1. Mean Response
    2. Frequency Response
    3. Comment Reports
    4. Executive Summary- the Executive Summary provides a thorough description of the P.U.L.S.E. and recommendations. The Executive Summary may be used to disseminate information to directors, managers, or to the entire employee base.

The P.U.L.S.E. Strategy Planning Meeting

  1. The Leadership Strategy Planning meeting is to review the results from the P.U.L.S.E. and the executive summary (typically a half day session)
  2. Action steps from the leadership team are defined
  3. Time frames for the action steps to be completed are defined
